"The Crumlin River, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.”

Welcome to the website of the Crumlin and District Angling Association, owners of the fishing rights to the Crumlin River, Co. Antrim.
The Crumlin River
The River takes its name from the village of Crumlin, Co Antrim, from the Irish Cromghlinn, meaning 'Crooked Glen'. A small to medium sized river, it rises on Divis Mountain and flows to Lough Neagh, extending roughly 13 miles in length.
As with many smaller rivers across Ireland the river holds a good stock of native brown trout in small pools and stretches of fast running streams. In late summer and early autumn, the Crumlin river benefits from a run of Dollaghan, a breed of trout native only to the Lough Neagh catchment, and to a lesser extent has a run of salmon.
The Crumlin River is a recognised game fishery. Permitted types of fishing are fly, spinner and worm. Under no circumstances are other bait or lure types permitted.
